1) Keeping Calm – The lastest and biggest craze nearing the end of 2013 were all of the “keep calm and …” slogans. Quickly peaking, they overtook the market and have worn themselves out.
2) Words as Art – You’ve seen them everywhere! How will you know what to do in the kitchen without that handy drink and eat art to supply their subtle hints?
3) Grey – Shades of grey going out of style? We couldn’t disagree more!
4) Burlap – People really think that scratchy burlap will be existing the trend market? We’re not sure it’s fame is over just quite yet.
5) Distressed Furniture – Upcycling/recycling is thought to remain popular, but in solid colors instead of the distressed worn look.
6) Bird Motifs – All those birds have flown South for the Winter and will hopefully not be returning.
7) Chevron – Those zig zagged patterns.
8) Salon-Style Art – AKA “Clustered Gallery Walls”
9) Stainless Steel Appliances – Due to the inability to keep fingerprints off of them and keeping them clean.
10) Industrial Furniture – Mostly because of their increasingly overscale size because who has room for that in their home.
Tip: How To Clean Tile Grout
Mix 7 cups water, 1/2 cup baking soda, 1/3 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup vinegar. Put mixture in a spray bottle and spray your floor. Let it sit for a minute or two, then scrub.
