Are you wasting electricity? Most homeowners do not realize how much wasted electricity they are paying for each month. Save a substantial amount over the year by changing the way your device cords are powered. Adding smart power strips in your home is a sensible idea. They sense when a devise is not in use and will deactivate the power to that outlet until needed. Carefully select which items you use with this outlet though, as you will not want to cut power to items such as computers that need to stay on or in a “sleep” mode to not lose data. We recommend sticking to appliances that are not used consistently, cell phones and other devises, as well as electronics such as televisions and DVD players or radios. Beware of plugging your satellite box into a smart strip though, as they will need constant power for their DVR functions.
