What ROC license classification does an Arizona media wall contractor need?

Because a media wall combines framing, drywall, electrical, and finish carpentry, a residential general contracting classification is the appropriate fit rather than a single-trade license. TWD holds a General Dual KB-2 classification covering residential and small commercial work under ROC #271236. The classification a specific job requires depends on its scope, so verify any contractor's license and classification directly through the Arizona Registrar of Contractors before signing.

How do I check a media wall contractor's references?

Ask for a client whose project was similar in size and scope to yours, then ask specific questions rather than general ones. Useful ones: what went wrong and how it was handled, did the crew show up when scheduled, did the final invoice match the contract, and would you use them again? Published reviews are worth reading alongside a reference call, particularly reviews that describe how a problem was resolved rather than reviews that simply say the work was good.

What is a change order, and should I expect one on a media wall project?

A change order is a written amendment to the contract that covers work not included in the original scope, along with its cost. They commonly arise when a wall is opened and something unexpected is found, such as old wiring or framing that differs from what the plans assumed, or when a homeowner changes a selection mid-project. Ask before signing how change orders are documented and approved, and confirm that you sign off on the cost before any additional work begins.

Can I supply my own materials for a media wall build?

In many cases, yes, and homeowners commonly supply their own television. Be aware that materials you supply are typically excluded from a contractor's warranty, since the contractor cannot warrant a product they did not source or verify. TWD's 2-year warranty covers TWD-supplied materials and craftsmanship; customer-supplied materials are not covered. Confirm sourcing and warranty responsibility in the written scope before work begins.

What should a media wall contract include?

A written scope of work with exclusions stated, a payment schedule tied to defined stages, a start window and expected duration, the warranty term and what it covers, and a description of how change orders are documented and approved. If any of those five items is missing or verbal, ask for it in writing before signing.
